-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I'm trying to use my i386 based FreeBSD machine as a console on a Sun Net= ra X1. I've tried two cables: 1) a Cisco cable (72-1592-01) that's supposed to work, and 2) a cable I built with the pinout specified in the Sun manual The cables were connected it to COM1. When I tip: tip -v cuaa0c connected I get no output at all. The file /etc/remote has cuaa0c|cua0c:dv=3D/dev/cuaa0:br#9600:pa=3Dnone: which should be correct. Any suggestions for debugging the problem? P.S.: The Sun just arrived, via E-Bay, an I do not know for sure that it'= s=20 without problems. - - --=20 John R.
