Well -- that eliminates everything _but_ those two.

Quite likely. Generic PC type hardware can be a nightmare. Could be a bios
incompatibility or motherboard timings. (Try more conservative
settings.) Also be _sure_ IDE is disabled if it exists. Try another SCSI
card (ISA maybe) -- and if the ethernet card is a 3com try _any_ other
supported card.

Power supply is a remote possibility -- I saw that once.

A beer sometimes helps <g> but you may also want to check the temperature
inside the case. I'm afraid you're in the 'shot in the dark' zone.
