ok, on your master disk you have freebsd with the Booteasy installed. Now,
with both drives connected to the machine, at boot up, you should get a
'F?' prompt telling you 'F1=FreeBSD' 'F2 DOS' or 'F2 Win95' if you don't
get this, you have to install Booteasy on both Disks.

Then the prompt would be 'F1=FreeBSD' 'F2 2nd Disk' Then you would press
'F1 for FreeBSD'. If you pressed 'F2' it would display 'F1 1st Disk' and
'F2 Win95'.

Is it necessary to install the

I don't think it ruins the information, or it wouldn't be possible.

I meant a "Standard FreeBSD Master Boot Record" or the standard boot
information that is required to make FreeBSD boot. This is what you use
to boot FreeBSD if you only have one disk.

I hope this makes things clear.
