Well yes, things I changed are: a) set default volume to 90%, since I experience kind of distortion at 100%. /boot/device.hints: hint.pcm.0.vol="90" b) and then indeed I enabled virtual sound channels according to FreeBSD Handbook, 7.2.3: /etc/syscontl.conf: hw.snd.pcm0.vchans=4 hw.snd.maxautovchans=4 I will test this now without virtual channels.
