Install open-motif-2.1.30 (not > devel) as well? Not "as well" - "instead" :) I think people got tricked by the package name here, thinking that -devel must be the latest and greatest. In reality open-motif-devel just grabs some lousy prebuilt binaries and then dump them into your tree without even properly registering an installaion.
