What do you want to do?  gdm works out-of-the-box for the most part. 
For gdm, you need to add the following to /etc/ttys:

ttyv8   "/usr/X11R6/bin/gdm -nodaemon"  xterm   on

For gdm2, you can use the included gdm.sh.sample script.  All of this is
included in the pkg-message for each port.
