Maxim add koi8-u support by damaging koi8-r fonts (XFree86 version of them) in some small quantity. koi8-u support should be added properly instead, leaving koi8-r fonts (any version) untouched. I have nothing against koi8-u compatibility added in correct way, but I am not a specialist in koi8-u area. I think it is better to solve this by asking Maxim to add koi8-u compatibility in non-destructive way I describe. I.e. koi8-u is Maxim's area. If you want me to do something there, I can too, but it takes some time. -- Andrey A.
