On CC: lists, yes, culling is the right thing to do, but (sadly) rarely practiced. I find that the only practical option is to use procmail to remove the duplicates. I use this as the very first rule: :0 Wh: msgid.lock | formail -D 8192 msgid.cache This keeps an 8192 entry msgid cache and suppresses duplicates very well. I realize this doesn't suit everybody, but combining that with folder presorting etc almost makes tracking a dozen+ mailing lists almost bearable.
