My netsork's xntpd server syncs to the local clock whenever it can't reach the outside servers. This machine is on a demand-dial ppp link, and ntp packets don't cause a dial or keep the link up. THe biggest problem I have is when I download a bunch of stuff for a long enough period of time that the ntp packets are delayed... H
