The problem is that if we split the capture frame we will have to do scatter / gather. One possibility is to create an MM loader whose function is to allocate memory for the multimedia drivers and have the loader read a file to determine how much memory it should allocate. This approach is similar in nature to what some Win 95 drivers do : the .ini file determines how much contigous memory should be allocated for the driver.
