I burned a copy of the 4.7RC1 CD and tried to install it on some new hardware. But, it just gets stuck at Acd0: mode_sence_big command time out - resetting Ata1: resetting device .. Done I tried setting hw.ata.atapi_dma to 1, but no difference. hw.ata.ata_dma: 1 hw.ata.wc: 1 hw.ata.tags: 0 hw.ata.atapi_dma: 0 The same hardware loads 4.5 no problem. I was able to get it working with an older CD ROM (acd0: CDROM <NEC CD-ROM DRIVE:285> at ata1-master PIO4) but not with the Acer 52x. I dont have a serial console hooked up just to get the dmesg bootup of the AOpen, but the model # is CD956E/AKV, manufactured in June 2002 The MB is a dual AMD MP avail memory = 1039953920 (1015580K bytes) Preloaded elf kernel "kernel" at 0xc050e000.
