I use bandmin to monitor all the traffic from the jail's i run. This nice perl program works great with ipfw and ipf. Bandmin makes counting rules for you and gives the result in a nice html page. Bandmin is no longer mantained. You can find a copy on http://freebsd.cg.nu/bandmin/ This is version 0.90 the latest cvs version that was published.
