Hello all! This is my first message on here so hopefully I don't screw up. I am fairly new to FreeBSD, and recently installed 6.2 on my Inspiron XPS. H= ardware is as follows: 3.4GHz Pentium 4 2 GB Ram ATi Mobility Radeon 9800 Broadcom Gig Etherenet (Integrated) Dell 1350 Trumobile (not functional) Dlink DWL G630 (Atheros Based) PCMCIA Whenever I am in KDE or GNOME or any gui for that matter, I get hard locks. I can expedite this by visiting web pages, but it does seem to happen incons= istancy. Originally I posted this on bsdforums.org for help, but we havent been able=20= to get far. http://www.bsdforums.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3D47072 First we thought it was a keyboard mux problem, so we removed that. Still no fix. Then we thought it was an irq conflict interrupt total rate irq1: atkbd0 169 0 irq12: psm0 2595 7 irq14: ata0 41981 115 irq15: ata1 47 0 irq19: cbb0 ath0++ 171829 474 cpu0: timer 716536 1979 cpu1: timer 706378 1951 Total 1639535 4529 Once I removed the USB from the Kernel and Sysinstall, the IRQ conflict seem= ed to go away but the hardlocks still stayed. The usb.ko is not in the kldstat -v The current interrupt is=20 irq1: atkbd0 irq12: psm0 irq14: ata0 irq15: ata1 cpu0: timer There is little consistancy to these hard locks and no logs seem to be left. The only thing that makes a difference is visitng web sites speeds up the ha= rdlock (usually 2 -3 web pages) Any ideas? Thanks! -=3DTom Donnelly ------ This message sent on 100% recycled electrons.
