:S don't know ...

I believe this is not the Acer default, the radio is on by default and
supposed Acer's default to be WinXP and the WL driver installed the LED
should blink until you press the button to turn it off or goes on when
associated to an AP or adhoc connection

on linux using ndiswrapper happens exactly the same

on freebsd when kldloading ndis in loader.conf it is the same too *but* the
led do not light anymore since 6.0-B5

funny thing isn't it? but i believe we are still not completly synced ;)

I can tell about the broadcom HW which works for me here on releng_6 with the
NDIS driver as said BUT without any LED activity

using the same NB running ndis on FC4 I get the same result but *with* correct
led behavior

I believe the linux acerHK driver can not be compared because it's purpose is
a different one what btw should be the reason that you see something in dmesg
when pressing the button

I believe the difference we see must then be based on ath/bcom

I am using the bcom w/o any problem with NDIS since 5.4 and never had any
problem but the led thing
