[Gleb Smirnoff]

| | I have a Thinkpad T40 (model 2373-94G) running FreeBSD-5-CURRENT.
| | Until the beginning of June, using APM to suspend/resume worked
| | great on this machine. On every cvsup I've tried after the beginning
| | of June, suspend seems to work fine, but when resuming, the machine
| | will simply freeze. I get my prompt back on the display, but no
| | input is accepted, the machine is completely dead, and needs to be
| | power-cycled.
|
| I can confirm that I see the same problems in T20. The break definitely
| occured somewhat between July 9 and July 15. July 9 kernel works
| fine for me.

Thanks! I didn't have the chance to upgrade between mid-June and mid-July,
but the last time APM worked for me was 2004-05-28. All cvsup's between
2004-06-03 and 2004-06-16 would always cause the machine to hang upon
resume, and so did the source I cvsup'ed on 2004-07-24.

Based on your suggestion, I have now tried building kernel from source
cvsup'ed several times around 2004-07-09. With kernel based on source from
date=2004.07.08.18.00.00 suspend/resume actually works fine! With source
from date=2004.07.09.00.00.00 and later, it will hang upon resume. I can
try to narrow it further, if that is helpful.

| If noone replies until weekend, I'll try to find the commit which broke it.

Thanks. If you are able to get APM-resume to work again on your T20 with
more recent source, please let me know, and I'll check if it also solves my
problems.
