It is related to APIC being enabled on the motherboard. It is optional for single processor systems but required for multiprocessor systems. The message regarding the patch is contained in the following URL http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-smp/2005-January/000751.html I have been using the aforementioned patch for the past 24 hours. It is not perfect but I am getting some real speed (over 10KB/s though I should be getting close to 50KB/s). However, I am losing lots of packets when performing ping tests. Does anyone know anything further about it? I am willing to test trial patches as long as I do not lose my HDD data ;-D Regards, -- Mario S F Ferreira - DF - Brazil - "I guess this is a signature." feature, n: a documented bug | bug, n: an undocumented feature
