With the full knowledge that what I'm saying will probably be of no use, I have a personal friend who is a Microsoft certified developer, with full access to the source code of most Windows versions and other well-known Microsoft apps. He has told me more than once that, yes, the NT TCP/IP stack is somewhat BSD-derived, but from other conversations I gather that he has had to change things on his personal machines (things that never made it, and probably never will, in any MS official distribution), to make it *more* BSD-like.
