OK, I'm back home now, and the only plugin I'm using is gkrellmms (xmms plugin). The freezes _definitely_ only happen when I am using this plugin. My kernel config and dmesg are at http://dogma.freebsd-uk.eu.org/~setantae if they're of any use.
