https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=198551 Bug ID: 198551 Summary: MFC 270516 to fix brightness adjustment on many systems Product: Base System Version: 10.0-STABLE Hardware: amd64 OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Some People Priority: --- Component: kern Assignee: freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: rkoberman@gmail.com Created attachment 154250 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=154250&action=edit MFC of r270516 to enable brightness adjustment in i915 systems Since the introduction of the Intel Core series with integrated GPU (Sandy Bridge, I think), more and more people report that they can't get the brightness to adjust. This has been reported on a variety of units and was a problem on my ThinkPad T320. It turns out, this is fixed in HEAD and my brightness works just fine, either under program control or with the <Fn><Home> and <Fn><End> keys that are marked as brightness controls. I have tried applying the same patch to 10-Stable and it works fine for me and at least one other person who has tried it. Since 11 is way down the road, I'd love to see this make it into 10.2. Could some committer please take a look at this one? The revision is 270516. The patch for 10-STABLE is included in this report. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
