I wouldn't say I'm a "Prime Custodian", but almost all of the recent changes were done (in most cases written, but at least committed) by me. This change looks pretty reasonable, although I'm not exactly sure why the originator picked $MAILNAME (if this is some sort of canonical name, I haven't seen it). I'll look at this in more detail in about a week or so if nobody else does so before that time.
