Hello. I'm back with some more information. This evening I did a crash dump. *Please* tell me what I need to do and the information I shoud provide to you. I also tried to boot the old kernel, and that works! Don't know if it may help, but booting in single user mode with the new kernel, I tried to start emacs and I had the following error: # emacs o /usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libXaw.so.7" not found with the old kernel emacs works fine. Thank you very much for you help. -- Roberto Nunnari -software engineer- mailto:roberto.nunnari@supsi.ch Scuola Universitaria Professionale della Svizzera Italiana Dipartimento Tecnologie Innovative http://www.dti.supsi.ch SUPSI-DTI Via Cantonale tel: +41-91-6108561 6928 Manno """ fax: +41-91-6108570 Switzerland (o o) =======================oOO==(_)==OOo========================
