The SATA RAID controller, although it provides a 'legacy' option which should expose the RAID as an ordinary device, doesn't work despite the fact that both disk drives' LEDs flash when RAID 1 is enabled ;-( The RAID isn't supported by almost any operating system. We're using these boxes in combination with the relatively low cost 3ware 8006-2LP SATA raid card: http://www.3ware.com/products/serial_ata8000.asp and they work really nicely with FreeBSD and Linux.
