A special thanks to dwhite@gdi.uoregon.edu....the pipe is no longer broken..... down to business.....this new Linux kernel is about 2 years behind my best ideas to Microsoft but their Backoffice really won't be ready for another year (ie. they need gated ported over and they have some DMA sharing problems and file corruption with NT) so that buys us a little time.....now i think Netscape has rounded up a chat server and a merchant server and teamed up with Berkeley but they still need Oracle for an SQL server that is fed from either the Netscape or Apache Web Server....If you really want to go up against the entire Global IBM/Microsoft EMPIRE and WIN BIG.....this is what is needed as soon as possible on Xwindows.....doug will try to get an object oriented Xwindows that is too cool very soon....in the meantime get a drag&drop on the XWIN95 file manager.....I am trying to get Wordperfect/PlanPerfect/Dataperfect for Xwindows apps....they used to be the best in the world before Microsoft knocked them out of the ballpark....we will also need a tape backup application not just a driver.....should not be too difficult for a good student.....and I need a SBlaster Mixer applet (prefer Xwindows but if not ....OK).....Also, I need dual com ports working simultaneously for gatewaying entire networks and domains onto the Internet.....try running two instances of the com driver.....there is big money here if we can knock out UUNET while we are at it.....we now have an email server, news server, web server, and ftp server but these last two need to be virtualized into 10000 servers each with their own WWW name for hosting the entire world's web sites on one 600$Linux box.....leave response to : Mega_Wizard@hotmail.com....you can do it!.... --------------------------------------------------------- Get Your *Web-Based* Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ---------------------------------------------------------
