Put this in rc.local; > > kldload snd_hda > Thanks, Bernt. That seemed like a good workaround, but strangely still did not work. Driver loaded, but still no sound. However, if I start KDE 4.3, open a konsole and do the kldload snd_hda, I get sound. --Richard
