Hi, I have the feeling to be blind but I cannot find out why my FreeBSD 6.2 machine ignores hosts. host.conf says hosts dns resolv.conf contains my two dns ip addresses. Even a simple hosts like this has no effect 127.0.0.1 kopi Results in that ping does not find the host named 'kopi'. I try to figure this thing out since some time. All I got was the feeling the I cannot see the wood anymore as there are so many trees. Erich
