Actually, I don't mind paying for a plug in solution that someone else 
gets to do tech support for.  Livingston tech support is pretty damn good.

I think that the cost/performance factor may be in favor of the FreeBSD
box though.

(Of course, I'm young and have much to learn so I could be wrong.)
