In the following paragraph of Handbook (section 19.4 RAID1 - Mirroring), boot.conf is used instead of boot.config. Commnads that follows use the correct boot.config.
This file will “help” the system BIOS boot the correct drive:
# echo "1:da(1,a)/boot/loader" > /boot.config
# echo "1:da(1,a)/boot/loader" > /mnt/boot.config
