I can probably muddle through the side-loading referenced by Dave Cottlehuber. Luckily, my systems are all zfs-based. Is there any documentation of the directory structure and files that freebsd-update looks for? I noticed that the first request is: GET /12.2-RELEASE/amd64/latest.ssl HTTP/1.1 So even though the target release is 13.0, it's pulling files from the 12.2 tree.
