This version appears to break the blacklist feature (-b) for all my sshguard{,-pf} installations:
syslogd: Logging subprocess 53664 (exec /usr/local/sbin/sshguard -b 5:/var/db/sshguard.blacklist.db) exited with status 1.

Removing the -b argument allows sshguard to run again, but every installation with -b specified is left wide open.
