I too have been trying to get in touch with the maintainer for some time. I'd like to add support for tls. There's a set of patches which applies quite nicely, and I've added hooks to the port which will fetch and apply them quite nicely. If anyone of you have a updated port I'd be happy if you could send me a copy, so I can update my diffs to work with those ports instead. Perhaps it's time for another maintainer btw..?
