Cut'n'paste from /var/run/dmesg.boot:

FreeBSD 5.0-RELEASE-p7 #1: Tue Apr  8 21:26:49 GMT 2003
---cut---
CPU: AMD-K6(tm)-III Processor (499.84-MHz 586-class CPU)
  Origin = "AuthenticAMD"  Id = 0x5d4  Stepping = 4
  Features=0x8021bf<FPU,VME,DE,PSE,TSC,MSR,MCE,CX8,PGE,MMX>
  AMD Features=0xffffffffc0000800<SYSCALL,DSP,3DNow!>
---cut---

The processor is not really K6-III, but K6-2+. Or at least that's what
is printed on top of the processor's heat spreader. MHz is correct.
