Hello, According to the Samba documentation, in order to create machine logins (a-la an NT domain login situation), the machine's name must be added to the /etc/passwd (et. al.) files for authentication. The problem with this is that it also requires a '$' at the end of the machine's name in /etc/passwd, but the utility that updates the pwd.db and spwd.db files bawks on the $ in the username... is there any way around this?
