DEVFS can handle symlinks but there is only the oportunity for 
USERS to make them. (It is not easy to explain why but there is a
reason which is to do with duplicating them across multiple devfs
mounts. DEVFS does allow drivers to make hard links quite trivially
in fact doug  and I just did that over at his desk.
