I can try a system rebuild (after making a > backup, just in case!) and see what happens. i suspect it could be related to load. the puppy is running a serious mail load, apache, jabberd, a lot of dns, ... also, it's sata/twe, softupdates, ... it's not soggy, but it's not bored. randy
