FreeBSD 6.0-RC1 #6: Wed Oct 26 15:01:10 CEST 2005 root@freebsd.local:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/KERN6 i386
Compaq Proliant 800, 2*P3 800MHz, 640 MB RAM, ADAPTEC 3200S (chipset 7899G), 2*18GB Ultra 160 in HW RAID-1, / on that RAID (da0 on asr0)
>Description:
While doing normal boot, the last lines are:
asr0: <Adaptec Caching SCSI RAID> mem 0xc4000000-0xc5ffffff irq 9 at device 8.1 on pci1
asr0: [GIANT-LOCKED]
A second after this message appears, the system reboots without any further warning.
No compiler optimization options were used, tried with and without ASR_COMPAT. No differences.
>How-To-Repeat:
Get RELENG_6_0 and compile it with "options SMP". Connect asr and observe repeated restarts.
>Fix:
Not known. An (unacceptable) workaround is to compile the kernel without SMP and use 1 CPU.
