I can't say how much without doing a careful > analysis of KVM usage. We run our IRC servers on 2.2.x with maxusers set to 512 and nmbclusters set to 15000 and have for a long time. Higher settings seem to cause more problems than they solve due to the lack of the abovementioned kernel mods.
