[-- Attachment #1 --] Stan, (Brian?) If you boot using the floppies, the process will do the download itself. But, do yourself a favor and get the FreeBSD handbook first. Regarding your #2 HDD, what is its format? I don't think you could store the stuff on an unused DOS partition and install to the same disk; maybe I am not understanding what you're wishing to do. If you're a Windows-exclusive user, be forewarned there's no self-executing installable *.exe file here....:-) (I'm trying to be helpful, not patronizing; Forgive if it seems otherwise!) If you can burn ISO images to CD-R, you can get the ISO images via anonymous ftp from ftp.freebsd.org but you *must* have high speed access unless you can afford to do a 12 hour plus d-load. You might grab 4.5-mini-iso (it's only about 180 MB). The path to the ISO images for FreeBSD 4.5-RELEASE is: /pub/FreeBSD/releases/i386/ISO-IMAGES/4.5/ I'm thinking your best bet is to simply install from the two floppies (kern.flp and mfsroot.flp) after a pretty good reading of the Handbook, or a download/burn of the mini-ISO followed by intensive CVSup lessons....
