Well, your config file lead me to the correct solution. It seems that the CM56 card really wants to be sio0. (0x3f8-0x3ff irq 4) As soon as I move it from sio0 and enable the builtin serial port, FreeBSD identifies the CM56 as an 8250 UART. Making the builtin serial port sio1 (0x2f8-0x2ff irq 3) and the CM56 sio0 (0x3f8-0x3ff irq 4) everything works great. Thanks for all the help.
