Yes. I have PCGA-CD51 working with 505 and Z505FX (both are japanese
versions) running FreeBSD-3.2 (+PAO3).

There are 2 versions of VAIO cdrom.
 PCGA-CD5: (comes with AC adapter)
this type is known to be broken.
(resetting the ATA controller also resets PCMCIA
configuration; a workaround by skipping the reset line is
	possible but not recommended.)
 PCGA-CD51: (power supplied via pccard)
	this type works fine.

The following config line works for me. (recognizes CDROM at boottime
when it is connected.)

controller	wdc2	at isa? port "0x180" bio irq 15
