Out of all the suggestions (aside from making -pthread a NOOP),
this is my favorite one. I would also make -pthread a NOOP
when building shared && dynamic.
I plan on changing thread library compatibility for FreeBSD
6.0, though. So it might be wise just to add a different
compiler switch for libthr or libc_r.
