In some email I received from Jordan Hubbard, sie wrote: > It was certainly my understanding that this was simply an > administrative move ("IPfilter is third-party software and should live > with the other third-party maintained software") and does not affect > the functionality of releases at all. Am I wrong in this > understanding or something? I don't mind that sort of thing happening on the trunk, in -current, in fact it's probably a good move in the long run as ipfilter won't get smaller. It just complicates everything and makes FreeBSD 4.4 (and later) different enough from an IPFilter user perspective that it may as well be FreeBSD 5.0. It would be nice for all who'll have to deal with this if those changes could be undone on the RELENG_4 branch. Then again, if there will be _no_ 4.4, no problem, but I suspect that won't be the case!
