Hi all, I am trying to riddle out ppp under 4.2 I am using a PCMCIA Modem. A
3com noteworty.
Insert of the card gets me this.
Jan 2 21:08:19 minime pccardd[53]: Card "Toshiba America"("3CXM056-BNW")
[3COM/NoteWorthy 56K Modem] [(null)] matched "Toshiba America" ("3CXM056-BNW")
[(null)] [(null)]
Jan 2 21:08:24 minime /kernel: sio0 at port 0x3f8-0x3ff irq 3 slot 0 on
pccard0
Jan 2 21:08:24 minime /kernel: sio0: type 16550A
Jan 2 21:08:24 minime pccardd[53]: sio0: Toshiba America (3CXM056-BNW)
inserted.
But when I try to dial with
ppp -auto isp
I get this stuff in ppp.log
Jan 2 21:05:09 minime ppp[274]: tun0: Command: /dev/tty: dial isp
Jan 2 21:05:09 minime ppp[274]: tun0: Command: isp: set phone 9,9,6122787827

Jan 2 21:05:09 minime ppp[274]: tun0: Warning: deflink: /dev/sio1: Bad file
descriptor
Jan 2 21:05:09 minime ppp[274]: tun0: Chat: Failed to open device (attempt 1
of 1)
Jan 2 21:05:09 minime ppp[274]: tun0: Phase: deflink: opening -> closed
Jan 2 21:05:09 minime ppp[274]: tun0: Phase: bundle: Dead
Jan 2 21:05:13 minime ppp[274]: tun0: Command: /dev/tty: quit
Jan 2 21:05:13 minime ppp[274]: tun0: Phase: PPP Terminated (normal).
I have tun and ppp stuff in my kernel just like the docs say. Frankly I looked
for something like wvdial but....
Well anyway, any help would be appreciated.
