The FreeBSD documentation set consists of many documents. The majority of these is available under the same license that you can view by following the "Copyright" link near the top of the Handbook's first page. There are however parts of the FreeBSD documentation set that are works or parts of works copyrighted by their respective authors. Those documents have their own copyright notices near their beginning. For an example of a non-BSD licensed document, see http://www.FreeBSD.org/doc/en/books/design-44bsd/ (which is "Copyright (C) 1996 by Addison-Wesley Longman, Inc").
