The following reply was made to PR kern/71394; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Yuri <yuri@tsoft.com> To: freebsd-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org, yuri@tsoft.com Cc: Subject: Re: kern/71394: [boot] unable to mount troot device in boot: UDMA ICRC error [5.2.1-specific] Date: Thu, 09 Sep 2004 01:01:29 -0700 Here's the exact model of the motherboard where failure happens: Chipset: VIA-K8T800 Motherboard manufacturer: MSI. Motherboard model: MS-6702(v.1.X) ATX Motherboard I believe thare's plenty of exactly these MBs in Frys now, so likelihood someone else hits this is high. I just verified this also happens in 5.3-BETA. Also what's the best strategy to troubleshoot? I guess I can print log of all accesses to ATA bus during mount of "/" in 5.2 and 5.1 and compare ? Yuri.
