Thank you for the idea.

It did not significantly change the file size: 139427840 -> 139401216.

And I assume it would not inhibit the creation of journal file on every pkg
operation - I'll check this next time.

Most likely this behavior only caught my attention because at 140M there is
quite some disk activity whenever pkg performs a transaction. Probably pkg has
changed to store more information in the DB, thereby significantly increasing
its size.
