Many moons ago, I got an eMachines M5305: <http://reviews-zdnet.com.com/eMachines_M5305/4514-3121_16-21183515.html>; I know it's USB ports work, generally, but now I was chasing a umass devices with sub-par thoughput. I know there's overhead for the fs and so forth, but I'm seeing on the order of 75x reduction here. Have I misunderstood the problem?
