When running one java app (sorry, I don't have any other to test with) my X session goes down after a couple of minutes. This didn't happen before and started about 10 days ago, though I can't fix it on any special update. First I thought it might be the same thing as what happens to libpng with MMX. Anyway, here are the facts: jdk12-beta, jdk-linux-1.3, jdk-linux-ibm-jdk-1.3 crash my X session when running Frost (http://jtcfrost.sf.net) for a couple of minutes, leaving it in various states of insanity: Just an epmty X root with ptr, sometimes a terminal will survive, the sawfish-wm goes down all the time (I'm running Gnome). My .xsession-errors shows (the Warnings show up on begin of the session): SESSION_MANAGER=local/monster.ikea.net:/tmp/.ICE-unix/805 Gtk-WARNING **: gtk_signal_disconnect_by_data(): could not find handler containing data (0x818B100) Gtk-WARNING **: gtk_signal_disconnect_by_data(): could not find handler containing data (0x818B120) opera-bin: Fatal IO error: client killed Gdk-ERROR **: Fatal IO error 55 (No buffer space available) on X server :0.0. XIO: fatal IO error 55 (No buffer space available) on X server ":0.0" after 84324 requests (84321 known processed) with 0 events remaining. Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0 Gdk-ERROR **: X connection to :0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown). XIO: fatal IO error 55 (No buffer space available) on X server ":0.0" after 11697 requests (10375 known processed) with 0 events remaining. Gdk-ERROR **: Fatal IO error 55 (No buffer space available) on X server :0.0. Gdk-ERROR **: X connection to :0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown). XFree is 4.1.0_6. I remember seeing a sigBUS earlier this week, but memtest didn't turn up any memory errors and the system has no other problems even under stress load. Any help is appreciated, especially what this XIO-error means!
