I know about that one and I wouldn't have updated xerces-c2 if there hadn't been the DoS thing. If I remember correctly there is some release date for xalan-1.9 in second week of November[jupp see 1] and I would like to wait for that with the update as this will be the release for xerces 2.6. (note: I am currently not following development of any of these). ICU is another related update candidate btw.
