Hello FreeBSD fans,

I found no information on setting or installing a mysql
server in the freeBSD handbook online or the hardcopy
version which I have.
 
I did a google search on setting up a freebsd mysql
server and there are not that many.  The majority of
detailed step-by-step installation and configuration are
for linux systems. 

Is it safe to use linux's installation and configuration
techniques of mysql for freebsd systems?

I appreciate your comments.
