Answer.  Yes.  You need linux fdisk to create the partitions and auto
did not work ( I don't think ) but sho 'nuff, you can do it.

devfs slot allocation fails for s5, s6 didn't complain.

Bless the fellow who allowed 
disklabel -r -w sd2s5 <proto>
